Historical, Empire period missing

edit

Were there no changes after WWII? Same applies to all the ranks, it's missing everywhere, it seems. I came across this problem when editing the Arab Legion, and it must pop up all across the Empire. Arminden (talk) 07:45, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

What sort of changes? -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:26, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I didn't put it correctly. I mean: can one link "Major-general" in articles about 20th-century Empire-related topics (so pre-late 40s in broad terms) to this & other articles on British army ranks, or were there changes made between the late phase of Empire and current times? Again, I came across this problem when I linked ranks mentioned in the Arab Legion article to articles of the "Rank (United Kingdom)" type. If there had been any sections on the meaning of the rank in 20th-century armed forces of British dominions, I would have been more at ease with it, but there are none. No, no real changes. No problem in linking it. The ranks in all Imperial forces were very similar until well after WWII. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:37, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, now I know it, but others should too. If you or anyone finds the time & reliable sources, this would be of great interest. Probably on a more central page? Think of how many national armed forces have developed from the Imperial ones. Cheers, Arminden (talk) 17:16, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
