Putting Commas and Periods Inside Quotation Marks

edit

"Commas and periods always go inside the quotation marks in American English; dashes, colons, and semicolons almost always go outside the quotation marks; question marks and exclamation marks sometimes go inside, sometimes stay outside." - (https://www.grammarly.com/blog/quotation-marks/) Even though some of the commas and periods on this page are not part of the original quotes, they should be inside the quotation marks according to the guidelines of American English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WingsOfBone (talkcontribs) 20:44, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@WingsOfBone: WP:MOSLQ is our writing style. Since the source does not have the comma, neither does this quote. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:47, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Walter Görlitz: Thank you, I was unaware of that specific nuance of Wikipedia's Manual of Style. My mistake. Even though I disagree with the style choice, I will abide by Wiki guidelines in the future. WingsOfBone (talk) 20:51, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
If you had read the edit summary I left, I pointed to LQ. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:53, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
