Vandels
editJust had a clearout of all the obvious stuff that was false. Have had to use '?' as the year as I dont know what it should really be as no sourced references. Thecyberwasp (talk) 02:21, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Significance
editI question whether Mr Riley is important enough to be included in wikipedia. The criteria for inclusion state that a person entered for academic merit must be more notable/productive than the average University professor. From the evidence here Mr Riley seems no more prolific or noteworthy than numerous other university composers and musicologists. He has also not had widespread coverage in the national or international media, which would warrant his inclusion. He regularly contributes to "Gramophone" magazine, but if that is the basis for inclusion, then wikipedia's entry criteria would have to be expanded to have entries for almost all journalists, columnists and regular contributors to British magazines and newspapers. 138.48.16.169 (talk) 18:06, 13 January 2009 (UTC)V. - And no more prolific than other biographers? He's one of the few people from the County Town of North Yorkshire who've made names for themselves. Noteworthy != specialist!--Rfsmit (talk) 22:47, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
