When was the road built?
editCan anyone find out when the road was built, that cut off the legs of the Man Mound? BarthPhoto (talk) 16:26, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- The WHS and the NRHP nomination say the road was built before 1905. This 1906 map confirms a road through the middle of section 28. The earlier maps I can find, back to 1859 also show that road, but that's not conclusive evidence because these early mapmakers would sometimes draw straight roads where a road meandered, since they didn't have aerial photos to use as reference. So it's probably best to say only "before 1905." --Jeff the quiet (talk) 19:28, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

editIs there an photo of illustration of what the mind like like from above? BarthPhoto (talk) 16:28, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, an aerial photo would add a lot to the article. This sounds like an interesting project for User:Wikideas1 and his drone, if he gets over that way. --Jeff the quiet (talk) 19:34, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
