Copyright violation
editAlthough subjected to a few minor edits since appearing on Wikipedia, the biography content that I removed today was most likely lifted from Man Parrish's web site, which took it from All Music Guide, a commercial web site whose parent company derives most of its income from licensing such material. Parrish may or may not have permission to republish that bio on his own web site, but Wikipedia surely doesn't. —mjb 01:35, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
sorely and woefully remiss
editI understand that the copyrighted material had to be removed, however; I will set out to do an appropriate biography for Mr. Parrish and will post it if one isn’t put up within the next few days, this gentleman is one of the forefathers of electronic music and it is a travesty that there is a short blurb like this in regard to him. —User:DJ Black Adam
- Go for it! Just be sure to adhere to WP:BLP, avoid hyperbole, etc. —mjb 03:49, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Appearances / Compilations
editThis section is *waay* too long, and adds nothing (IMO) to the article. Do we really need to know that Parrish's number "Hip Hop Be Bop" was on NINE compilation albums? When the song is already listed twice elsewhere in the article? Any objections to me removing the section? -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 02:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Southern Fried Records
editThe claim that Man Parrish will be releasing tracks on Southern Fried Records needs a source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.88.217.240 (talk) 04:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
A (small?) detail that should be corrected?
editThe article about [Man Parrish] says "His premier release was Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don’t Stop), released in 1983 and is considered a classic in the genre of Electronic Music." while the one about the song ["Hip Hob Be Bop"] says "It was released in 1982 and is considered a classic in the genre of electronic music.", which year is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.114.41.37 (talk) 01:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Image
editThere was a link from the infobox to an image at "File:Manuel.jpg" until I removed it a moment ago. There's currently an image of that name illustrating an article about a Scottish railway junction, Manuel Junction. I thought that your image had been over-written, so asked an admin to look into it - but apparently the Man Parrish image was deleted in Sept 2009 because it lacked copyright info.
