Monochrome?

edit

Was this originally a colour painting? The article and the source don't say. I assume that the lead image is a monochrome reproduction. I've added this File:Jean Metzinger, c.1913, Le Fumeur (Man with a Pipe), 129.7 x 96.68 cm, Carnegie Museum of Art.jpg to the gallery, but the article does not mention it either. It seems highly "related" and it's obviously very colourful. I'd say this was quite an important fact to make clear, one way or another. Otherwise the quote from Metzinger and Gleizes (1912) doesn't make a great deal of sense? Martinevans123 (talk) 19:44, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay. Yes, you bring up an excellent point. This is a B&W half-tone reproduction. Now mentioned in the article. Coldcreation (talk) 06:24, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for adding the mention. How very frustrating that we don't know what the original looked like. I was wondering if the image of Le Fumeur (Man with a Pipe) from Carnegie Museum of Art could be used as more of a comparison at all. Martinevans123 (talk) 07:47, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
