Mandalorians: Identity and Language
I found this in Star Wars Republic Commando: Triple Zero, in the intro to chapter 6, and thought it might could go in this article, but had no idea on how to go about it, or if it should actually go in at all...
- In five millennia, the Mandalorians fought with and agaist a thousand armies on a thousand worlds. They learned to speak as many languages and absorbed weapons technology and tacics from every war. And yet, despite the overwhelming influence of alien cultures, and the absence of a tru homeworld and evn species, their own language not only survived but changed little, their way of life and their philosophy remained untouched, and their ideals and sense of family, of identity, of nation, were only strengthened Armor does not make a Mandalorian. The Armor is simplu a manifestation of an impenetrable, unassailable heart.

Mandalorian rank structure/organizational chart?
I was wondering does anyone know of Mandalorian rank structure. If so could you post it. Im interested in knowing what it is, and didn't see one.
Creatures of Onderon and Dxun
this part of the article dosent seem to add anything, and reads sort off like a travellers guide to the area, so im going to delete it anless anyone really wants it there -Pigmandelux
Merge from Mandalorian language
Per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mandalorian and now Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mandalorian language, I have redirected Mandalorian language here. Please merge what content you wish from the previous version of that article. cab (talk) 01:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Merged in most of the article, with some minor adjustment for context. What I am doing with my life? 217.43.140.110 (talk) 02:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Gender and context
What does this sentence mean?
One notable feature of the fictional language is that it has no gender, relying on context to convey the proper message.
I don't understand it grammatically, afaik, English has no grammatical gender either, but it rarely is a reasoon to add context. Has someone mixed up gender with pronouns or something? 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 11:17, 12 May 2008 (UTC) it didn't even have words for he/she until recently and such concepts were only added to facilitate communication with cultures where such distinction is needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.154.124.81 (talk) 21:00, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
What does this sentence mean?
"Making a living upon its surface requires one to constantly battle for survival, and thus the Mandalorians know no other way of succession."--Filll (talk | wpc) 19:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC) Living on Mandalore (Manda'yaim) is difficult in the extreme and so this constant battle has become culturally integral(the center of their culture). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.154.124.81 (talk) 21:05, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
NOT a race
Mando'ade are NOT a race, they are a people. The same way the Jedi or the Sith are a people. ANYONE can be a Mando, the same way ANYONE can be a Jedi. It's not a species. The Taung are rumored to be the ancestors of humans in-general, in Star Wars. --75.185.110.190 (talk) 19:43, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually.... thats not true.... Since The Taung Battled the human race, it doesnt make any sense at all to think they were human ancestors, not to mention that they died out thousands of years into human existence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.94.17.200 (talk) 08:27, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I agree that they are not a completetly new race, if even javas and tusken are related to humans in Star Wars (at least it is assumed). And if Boba Fett is a Mandalorian all Clone-Warriors are Mandalorian. Just wanted to add that because you said they died out —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.217.0.159 (talk) 22:22, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Mand'alor
Isn't the mandalorian ruler the Mand'alor, not the Mandalore–I've heard both. WIKIBLURRRTALK 20:27, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Well both are right......Mand'alor is how you would say it and how it's written in mando'a, but in regular basic(or english) it's mandalore06:08, 12 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Muttonchops85 (talk • contribs)
Answer to gender
The Mandalorian language is NOT gender-based. For example, "vod" means both brother (mainly) and sister.
Remove Fanfic
As the template on top of the article states, it is full of fan fiction. To comply with WP:WAF I suggest the deletion of the whole "History" section (with all of it's subsections, of course), since nothing of it has anything to do with real life. The introduction and language part are quite alright, exept I'm not sure about the copyright issue with the language part. If no one here wishes to rewrite the History section asap to a plain real life referencing text, I'm going to delete it in seven days. The template has been added almost a year ago and nothing has happend. --82.83.89.201 (talk) 09:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I remove that in universe view now. I would also strongly recommend a merge with Clone Troopers, that is somewhat redundant to this article. --Trac3R (talk) 16:16, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Get this crap out of here
If you want to write lovingly detailed articles about Star Wars, go do it at Wookiepedia, not Wikipedia. And no that's not me making a pun, that's the actual Star Wars wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.128.98 (talk) 11:26, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
