It's after that building. Ford lived there, as did/do lots of jazz musicians. I don't really know the building, but the cover photo looks a bit like other photos I've seen – is it not the same building? There's more about (jazz) musicians and the building here. Thank you for your reply. I happened to live for 8 months just opposite that building on 43rd Street, and I'm fascinated by its history. The building on the album cover is quite obscured by the foliage, and I can't see any balconies, but given the JazzTimes article you linked to, it probably is. I think the building should be mentioned in this article; I will certainly incorporate the information from JazzTime into the building article.
