Manny SD Lopez → Manny Lopez – The person is the WP:Primarytopic over the television character. Showiecz (talk) 03:37, 8 January 2022 (UTC)— Relisting. — Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 09:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. There's arguably a more notable Manny Lopez who is currently a congressman from Manila and almost ran for Manila mayor recently. This article should not be on its current name though as this guy isn't referred to as such. As both Filipino Manny Lopezes are politicians, and the congressman has the clear dibs to being the actual primary topic, I'm not sure how to proceed. Manny SD Lopez → Manny Lopez (activist) – To distinguish from the Manny Lopez who is a representative / congressman. Showiecz (talk) 08:13, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- Speedy close we just had a discussion yesterday. Both Manny Lopezes are politicians and just to call this one as an "activist" is a misrepresentation, more so when this guy is running for vice president. Howard the Duck (talk) 12:00, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- The article doesn't mention any vice presidential run only activism so he is barely a politician. He truly becomes a politician if he wins until then he is just a glorified activist. And he is unlikely to win so he is just using this run as a platform for his advocacy. Showiecz (talk) 13:07, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- A person becomes a politician once he is a nominee or candidate on an election. Eddie Villanueva was a politician, even when he always lost until he finally won in 2019. Howard the Duck (talk) 13:48, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- When it comes to this person, he is barely a politician since the campaign period has not started yet. He is still mostly an activist with an unwinnable stint running for vice president. He is not even a perennial candidate like Villanueva was. Showiecz (talk) 14:26, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- "Barely a politician" is a politician, and a vice presidential candidate at that, no matter the odds. Smells like a politician from a mile away. This kind of "tall odds candidates" are like Irene Santiago, Nicanor Perlas, Samson Alcantara (RIP) and even Ricardo Penson who probably had notable activities before their political activities (with Penson even being married to Dina Bonnevie, but I didn't know that until he ran), but are commonly remembered, if at all, as vice/presidential/senatorial candidates. As this guy has the same name as another even more notable politician, we'd have to look for other ways to disambiguate the two. FWIW, some WP:RS do call him as "Manny SD Lopez", and the ballot lists his name that way. Howard the Duck (talk) 15:23, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Move to Manny Lopez. There is no other article on WP using the title, and he is referred to as Manny Lopez in most sources (a few use Manny S. D. Lopez but I haven't noticed any using "SD"). The pageviews for this article have increased dramatically this month. While few people use the dab page, the 2-4 who wind up there daily almost unanimously want this article.[1] There is no reason to add "activist" if there is no other article with the same title, especially since that qualifier is possibly POV. Station1 (talk) 20:23, 25 January 2022 (UTC)- If someone creates an article about Manny Lopez the congressman (MP) from Manila, how should it be named? Howard the Duck (talk) 12:23, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- I would recommend Manny Lopez (legislator). If that article is written, we should reexamine this proposal after a few weeks to see which, if either, is the primary topic. Station1 (talk) 04:45, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- I've created that article on the target as proposed by you. We'll see now which is the primary topic.
- Re POV qualifier: I guess it's not really POV, since he was (still?) an activist. I suppose the spike in readers is due to the official ballots being finalized. Howard the Duck (talk) 13:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

- Change to Oppose. Things have changed since my comment. The newly-created article about the legislator shows early indications of possibly getting not insignificant pageviews compared to this article, which might be leveling off.[2] It's also pointed out below that the subject of this article does identify as "Manny SD Lopez". It seems to me that the best arrangement at this moment is the current one, with Manny Lopez as a dab page directing to Manny SD Lopez (per WP:NATURAL) and Manny Lopez (legislator), with no prejudice against revisiting in a month or two if one or the other turns out to be a primary topic.
