Mansion or house?
editSovalValtos - I may be being a little picky, but the two citations do state "mansion", and (locally at least) this is the term commonly used for a large country house with an estate. Tony Holkham (Talk) 23:53, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Tony Holkham I only accessed the citation 'British Listed Buildings' for the sentence containing "mansion", which led to three linked articles on the house, garden and gazebo. The one on the house is where I found "country house". Looking at the other two links I find no mention of mansion in them either. I now see that the cit for the other sentence with the date 1830 does mention mansion. I was further prompted to change mansion to country house by my observation of the modest house in the image I added, but that of course is WP:OR. Your observation of local usage might be thought to be WP:OR as well! Given that either are valid I would be happy if it was reverted to mansion as originally written.SovalValtos (talk) 05:23, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Date of the house
editGiven the source says 'Late seventeenth century; late eighteenth century; c. 1830' would it not be better to use the earliest phase rather than latest when saying "The building dates from about"? My suggested wording is "The building dates from the late seventeenth century".SovalValtos (talk) 05:33, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- The Coflein description is contradictory about the property, but it does say "the present house" is c. 1830, so your suggestion is close,; I will try to make the description more accurate. Tony Holkham (Talk) 12:08, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Bats
editApparently the church is closed owing to a bat infestation, but I can't find any source other than these pictures]. Tony Holkham (Talk) 13:19, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
