Talk:Manos Limpias

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Removed opinionated statements such as Manos Limpias being a far-right trade union. That is a left-leaning media view and as such is stated on the article.

Removing inaccurate statement that Manos Limpias supports francoist principles: Opposition to gay marriage, supporting rule of law or to take to court Garzon's failures and negligences are not necessarily exclusive to Francoists.

Corrected inaccurate statement that Mr. Bernad was member of Frente Nacional. Mr Bernad membership was to Fuerza Nueva, before Frente Nacional took that name.

It only takes a careful scrutiny of your post history to see that you're writing from an extremist viewpoint, hence your neutrality is highly debatable. I'll do the adequate changes, and I suggest you abide them instead of engaging in an absurd back-and-forth experience that will only cost you an IP block. In my personal opinion, edits such as seen previously in this article using such terms as 'fascist' are, whilst clearly not NPOV, somewhat understandable in the context of the politically delicate circumstances in Spain. This is a still fresh memory on the peninsula. It should not result in blocking and banning wars. Reasonable contribution is required from all quarters.

Personally, I have not, so far, strayed from editing the 'Social and Political Objectives' section in any way beyond minor.

I don't think that we can class centrist RTVE and right-leaning ABC Spain as left-leaning media views at all. I am fully aware that Manos Limpias themselves regard their portrayal as ultraderechista to be down to a left-leaning media tendency, but we are here to discuss in NPOV.

Everything from El Mundo on round to the Catalan papers calls them ultraderechista. Therefore we can say that the media oft calls them such.

I have tried to reflect Manos Limpias' view of this to some extent by including a link to a very relevant article on their site - though I can't quite get the link to work as intended.

This article really does need some work, and probably ought to be brought up to scratch with the Spanish version, given its relevance to current events. I shall try to help in the near future. Shoogledoogle 02:32, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Article

edit

The article seems unbiased and informative at this point. Could probably rate a B-Class, if anyone wanted to make the effort. As far as previous comments go, it seems ML is/was certainly pro-Francoist, given their notable outcry towards the idea of prosecuting Franco-era crimes. If they were neutral, or against the investigation of those war crimes, you'd think they'd have taken a different tack. Everything seems well-sourced as it is.
