Edited description of citation
editPreviously the citation for James's DFC was described as "cryptic". Not sure why - his disappearance certainly was - but not the citation as published in the "London Gazette". It's quite typical, actually, of a periodic award of the DFC to a WW1 flyer. Grooveman2006 (talk) 02:40, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Actually, his DFC citation is about a quarter the length of the average award citation, and lacks basic details. I concluded it was cryptic after perusing a couple of hundred similar citations in the course of writing articles about other WWI Commonwealth aces.
