Unfaithful description

Dear all,

for me it is pretty clear that the lyrics of Many Rivers to Cross are definitely not

a spiritual plea from the singer, calling out for guidance from above to help ease his trouble.

After reading the lyrics many and many times, for instance, in [1], i still can't find a reference to the creator.

au contraire, the composer even says "I is such a drag to be on your own," thing most related to being left by his girl, and not to being without a superior being. still other phrases have nothing of a call out for guidance from above. for instance, And " merely survive because of my pride," and "And it's only my will that keeps me alive."

the mentioned description is against the impartiality claims of Wikipedia. it is not impossible that the author of the song has religious beliefs, just as myself. the problem is that the religious beliefs are not in the lyrics words.

All the best, --Hgfernan 16:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Infobox

An infobox was requested for the Jimmy Cliff version of "Many Rivers to Cross" at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Missing_encyclopedic_articles/List_of_notable_songs/9.

Why is it that the wikipedia page for a song that is both owned and "owned" by Jimmy Cliff, looks like a billboard for a Cher concert? Is there some way to make all the Cher project and chronology stuff smaller?

I second removing the Cher image, I am familiar with about 10 versions of this song, none done by Cher. - 209.248.175.82 19:35, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

I've made an infobox but can we remove that Cher single? it's a live recording and only shows up on a greatest hits. there are definitely more notable recordings of the song. James.wallacelee (talk) 21:02, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Genre

The genre is currently listed as reggae. This song is not remotely reggae.... if anything, I would say it was gospel. 95.146.59.117 (talk) 23:48, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
