far-left?
editIn western political spectrum, this party is a far-left party. But in China, this party is NOT a far-left party. In Chinese political spectrum, far leftist usually are Trotskyists, Maoist are left-wingers, liberals and conservatives are right-wingers, social democrats and democratic socialist also on the Right. Chinese political spectrum is based on Marxist thought. Marxists think only socialists, communists, Marxists are leftists, Trotskyists are far leftists. JohnGao (talk) 05:38, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
- BBC calls it a far left party. AAAAA143222 (talk) 21:59, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Looking for additional sources
edit- Hey, I've been trying to to expand Wikipedia's content regarding Chinese politics, in particular left wing dissent in the country. So, I'm going to try to expand this article with new sources, I will be primarily looking within non-English sources.

Do it, please. Ta also for creating the other content related to China! Zezen (talk) 21:35, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Maoism vs. Maozedongism (per WP:COMMONNAME)
editNoting this since I accidentally reverted the move without finishing the edit summary. While "Maoism" (毛主义) is not a direct translation of "毛泽东主义", "Maozedongism" and "Maozedongist" is not part of the English lexicon. This is why if you look up "Maozedongism" or "Maozedongist" on Google you will get few English works that used those words and only a little over one hundred results overall. It is important to use commonly recognisable names in English for English-language articles — the variance in the Chinese name does not warrant the introduction or use of an obscure variant which may be interpreted as a non-localised (i.e. direct/literal) translation from Chinese. - Also worth noting that when a party member requested an English translation of the party declaration, both they and the translator agreed to translate the party's name as "Maoist Communist Party of China" because it was commonly understood between them that the party is not talking about a new variant distinct from Mao Zedong Thought and/or Marxism–Leninism–Maoism.
