Disambiguation not necessary

edit

This article's title demonstrates unnecessary parenthetical disambiguation. The way to deal with multiple alternative names is by using a redirect to the most appropriate article title from each alternative name, such as "Maracaibo National Prison", which appears to be the official name and "Sabaneta Prison", which appears to be the most commonly recognizable name used in the cited sources. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:56, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Naming this prison article

edit

Most of the cited English sources I have read refer to this prison as "Sabaneta prison". Even when the sources call this prison the "Maracaibo National Prison", they still still refer to the prison being known as "Sabaneta prison" immediately afterwards. Spanish sources also refer to this prison as "Cárcel de Sabaneta". Although its official name appears to be "Cárcel Nacional de Maracaibo", but when this is mentioned they also then refer to the prison by the name "Sabaneta" as well. While the prison is in the city of Maracaibo, it is in the Sabaneta Sector of the city, hence the name. From all this, I conclude the commonly recognizable name of this article should be Sabaneta prison - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:25, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
