Tags Removed

Removed the tag for sources from third party publications were needed, since many were added in. Judy Banki is a well respected academic whose work on the holocaust and religious studies has been published in many books and journals. Also removed the general clean up tag as the article has been edited, adding in citations, punctuations, etc. NYC Grad (talk) 15:54, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I re-added some tags:

• {{or}}, {{onesource}} and {{refimprove}} - "many sources" weren't added; instead, it was many references to a single source. Further references are still needed, as there are many uncited statements in this article.
• {{peacock}} - I got rid of much of this, but there are still uncited statements such as "Tanenbaum won a good deal of public recognition."
• {{coi}} - you've said that you work for the organization named for him, which WP sees as having a conflict of interest on this topic.

User:Ramprider1350 made a number of edits to this article today, several of which I have objections to or questions about.

1. Removal of all the {{Article issues}} tags: as I described above just a few days ago, I believe that they should be included. If you disagree, please discuss it here first.
2. The change from

Firstly, why is The Jewish Press being referenced on something Newsweek said? And secondly, it's not grammatical; the latter version implies that Newsweek dubbed him that multiple times, and only due to his role as Director.

to

The obituary is easy enough to access online (I was the one that initially added it to the article, after all), and reading it, it's simple to see that nowhere in it does it say the radio program was weekly, or that it covered current events.

My re-edits:

1. Added back in again.
2. Changed to make sense when reading. Put the citation in proper {{cite}} format, but re-added the {{Citation needed}} tag as it still needs better sourcing.

4. Changed the wording to "Besides his activism and scholarly work, Tanenbaum was known for his syndicated radio broadcasts,<ref name="NYTobit" /> which addressed current events." The NY Times obituary does support that he was known for his syndicated broadcasts.
