"South Slavic origins"

edit

Here we go once again: the bio on this page claimed that Marcello Dudovich's father, Antonio, was a Serbian from Kotor, Montenegro - as is often the case this originated with an IP edit on Dec. 27, 2016 by someone who only edited articles relating to Serbia. There was no source for this claim and everything I can find online relating to the father, Antonio Dudovich, indicates that he was born in Traù (Trogir), Dalmatia, and was a fervent Italian irredentist patriot, as he fought with Giuseppe Garibaldi and had his portrait painted in the red uniform of the aforementioned's army. He named his second daughter "Itala," literally translating to "Italian girl." The only source for this fake claim of alleged Serbian origins is this page and other pages copied and pasted from it. The good people of Wikipedia see an Italian whose name ends with "ich" and for reasons I don't entirely understand seem driven by a primal urge to invent a fake Serbian or Croatian family history out of thin air.
