"Her tutors were highly esteemed artists in their own right. Feyen-Perrin was greatly admired by Vincent van Gogh who lived very close to Margaret and who visited 11 Boulevard de Clichy where Feyen-Perrin and Krug lived. Vincent visited the American artist, Frank Boggs, who also lived in that building at the time. Another superb female artist under the same tutors was Jeanne Donnadieu who was listed in a Gil Blas 1887 article as being at a party with Margeret Hall. It was a highly prestigious party held by Krug and the women were listed alongside huge names such as Puvis de Chavannes, Benjamin Constant, Henner, Henri Pille, Jean Le Fustec etc. Donnadieu is suspected of having painted Vincent van Gogh as she produced a portrait of a very red haired man, dressed in an eccentric manner with belongings that are known to coincide with what Vincent had at that time including a large pulpit Bible. On the wall behind him is written "L'Incompris" and so this is what she chose to entitle it. Vincent only lived 4 doors away from Donnadieu at the time. If it is him then it is the only full body portrait of him in existence. He visited the Salon and it is highly likely that he would have at the very least, looked at Margeret Hall's painting "Fantine" when it was on display."
