University administration/ Controversy

edit

This text "Her more controversial actions included closing the Melbourne School of Land and Environment, which led to professional staff redundancies and internal staff movements" was added by an anon user (June 2019) doesn't seem to be supported by the reference. The reference says she did close the Melbourne school of land and Environment, but doesn't say anything about it resulting in prof staff redundancies and internal staff movements which seems to have been added as comment by anon user. If anyone can find this in the article, please advise, otherwise I will remove it. (Please note: I do work for the university, so I am declaring this for reasons of COI) Deathlibrarian (talk) 02:52, 13 February 2019 (UTC) The second comment "....and suspending the Bachelor of Environments degree, replaced by a narrower Design degree" is also by the same anon user. The comment that it was "replaced by a narrower design degree" also doesn't seem to be in the reference, so it has been added as an extra comment by the same anon user. Can anyone see this reference in there? Deathlibrarian (talk) 12:30, 13 February 2019 (UTC) It would appear, both comments were possibly(?) added by a disgruntled anon user, but happy to leave them if the reference support it. Deathlibrarian (talk) 02:45, 14 February 2019 (UTC) There doesn't seem to be any substantiation for the replacement for "replaced by a narrower design degree" comment, so I have removed that. :Please note I actually work for the University of Melbourne, so if this is a conflict of interest, please revert my edits* Deathlibrarian (talk) 13:25, 4 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am removing the word controversial, and the comment about professional staff redundancies. The reference mentions the fact the school was closed and the degree was no longer offerred, but nothing about whether it was controversial or had a flow on effect of staff redundancies. This is from this paragraph "Her more controversial actions included closing the Melbourne School of Land and Environment, which led to professional staff redundancies and internal staff movements". Once again, I am a staff member of Uni of Melb, so if people consider this a COI, please feel free to revert or provide a reference for these statements.
