Dec 27 reversion
editIf changes are needed to this page, please make them individually. Add or subtract links, or headings, if necessary, but don't treat this page as if it needs a massive overhaul. If you'll take a look at Category:Disambiguation pages in need of cleanup, you'll find scores of dab pages that are a mess, and greatly in need of a dab editor's attention. Maria is not one of them. It's been cleaned up quite nicely and all the links to it have been repaired. I'm happy to see the page improved through collaboration, but don't be reckless. - In what way was I reckless? And your statement "I'm happy to see ... " implies a feeling of ownership that is not very helpful. Abtract (talk) 19:00, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Since you gave me no clue as to what you didn't like about my cleanup, I am forced to guess that you feel the headings should be of the === type so I am going to edit in that direction. The rest of my edit concerned binning where I could find no reference in the target article, a slight re-ordering and some improvement to the wording. This time, if you don't like my edit, I suggest you either build on my edit or give me some specifics on the talk page. To quote from above, "I'm happy to see the page improved through collaboration, but don't be reckless". Abtract (talk) 21:41, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry to sound like an owner...didn't mean to. I'm just interested. I have built on your edits, replacing the proper quotations and italics where needed. I didn't object to the headings you used, although I do think on a page this long it is helpful to use TOC headings, so I'll admit I do prefer them. I generally don't use them on shorter pages. The question of which "Marias" to include from history could be a tricky one, I think, because there are so dang many. This page used to include a very long list, but I cut it down considerably, using the rationale that, as a dab page, it should only include people who are known simply as "Maria". I have tried to follow the guidelines here, although they are only suggestive. I did remove Marie of Edinburgh because she is not known as Maria, but Marie, according to the article. I'm not sure this list is quite right yet, nor do I think it was quite right before (maybe it never will be). It would probably be a good idea to come to some guiding consensus on this page, to serve as a guide for future editors. SlackerMom (talk) 15:39, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- Also, I apologize for implying that you were reckless. I shouldn't have. Thank you for sticking to WP:BRD. SlackerMom (talk) 16:26, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- It seems ro have developed well while I have been away (maybe there is a lesson here) and looks fine now except ... I personally do not like TOC right as it looks messy and detracts from its usability (imho) but I am not the worlds best stylist, you choose. Abtract (talk) 23:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

editMaybe the fictional characters ought to be moved to Maria (given name)? It feels odd to give them more prominence here than the real ones. —Tamfang (talk) 17:36, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
