Early life and education
edit- "She was valedictorian from her 1952 high school and work as a secretary for the superintendent of the local schools. She died at 92 in 1996." this bit is rather confusing and could benefit from some rewording ... such as specifying that "Means was valedictorian of" so that one doesn't misunderstand. When I read it, because of the death date, I thought her mother was still the subject. Unless there's a typo (graduation date should be 1925) and it really is about her mother? Nonetheless, changing "from" to "of" would still be necessary, as would changing "work" to "worked", and specifying that the person who died in 1996 was her mother. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmissy (talk • contribs) 15:50, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

- Done --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:46, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- "and John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign ." - the extra space between "campaign" and the period is not needed
- Done --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:46, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Societies
edit- "Means was associated with the National Press Foundation, International Women's Media Foundation, White House Correspondents' Association, National Press Club, Cosmos Club, Gridiron Club (president), Delta Delta Delta, Sigma Delta Chi, and Phi Beta Kappa" - more uses of the word "the" where appropriate should be used in this portion of text
- Done --Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:03, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
Private life
edit- "She was briefly married to government affairs consultant Edward H. DeHart in the early 1970s." - this sentence will require a reliable source
