Good morning po mga Pinoy Wikipedians, and good day to all Wikipedians! :-) Hope we are all healthy and safe from the current global ordeal. One concern: are @RaymondSupleo:'s edits on Marikina–Infanta Highway and several articles linking it helpful and constructive? Special:Contributions/RaymondSupleo - based here he is emphasizing the name "Marcos Highway," replacing "Marikina–Infanta Highway" with "Marcos Highway" on articles like at Infanta, Quezon (from this to this). Also please take note of his edits at this page history of Marcos Highway disambiguation page. Through his "correction" that Marcos Highway is the correct name, he kinda messed up parts of Marikina–Infanta Highway article. I first took notice of him in Tagalog Wikipedia, in which he kinda messed up tlwiki's edition of Marikina–Infanta Highway article. While I initially accepted his edits, thinking that it has become the standard name of the highway, I saw his edits here (enwiki), in which he asserts the name Marcos Highway in the article and even in several articles linking to it.

I might need the insights of several Wikipedians on this. Sorry if I had to disturb you all: @RioHondo:. @P199:, @HueMan1:, @Seav:, @Sky Harbor:, @AntiCompositeNumber:, and @R'n'B:. Kindly check if his edits are healthy or destructive. Thanks and stay healthy and safe everyone! JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 01:55, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

As far as I know, Marcos Highway is what it's commonly called, but the official name is the Marikina–Infanta Highway. If there are reliable sources that say otherwise, I'll be glad to be proven wrong. --Sky Harbor (talk) 01:47, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yup, Marcos Highway is the WP:COMMONNAME here, 228,000 vs. 43,400. When in doubt, use google search. ;)--RioHondo (talk) 17:52, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Not necessarily. ;) That said, I notice that government sources are inconsistent: some use Marcos Highway, some use Marikina–Infanta Highway, and some use variants (e.g. Marikina–Infanta Road). --Sky Harbor (talk) 03:23, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Marikina–Infanta HighwayMarcos Highway – Marcos Highway does appear to be the WP:COMMONNAME. Raw Google search results by User:RioHondo in early 2020 (see Talk:Marikina–Infanta Highway#RaymondSupleo's edits) seem to imply which is the most frequently-used name of this highway. Note that we do not need to follow legal or official names per WP:OFFICIAL. The disambiguation page can go to Marcos Highway (disambiguation) (since Twinkle does not allow multiple move requests, I cannot add the second request above). Oppose. There are three Marcos Highways, and I don't think the Marikina-Infanta one commands WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The one in northern Luzon also has a claim to that. Keep this name; we don't follow WP:OFFICIAL, but since "Marcos Highway" is ambiguous, and "Marcos Highway (Marikina to Infanta)" looks stupid, this should do. Oppose for same reasons above. Ganmatthew (talkcontribs) 03:54, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
