Do food shortages caused by Dutch Blockades really need to be included?
editshortages of food, clothing, medicine, material for transportation caused by Dutch blockades not only affect Madura but also in other Republican areas. (Kahin, 1952, Wild & Carey, 1988) By allocating some relief supply in captured areas, Dutch can alleviate in the distress they caused and appear as liberator instead of aggressor (Kahin, 1952, p.222).
