Search for "Mario Gabelli accused" and you get thousands of Google hits, yet there's not even a mention of the numerous investigations and suits... Who did this bio, Mario himself?

Agreed, it seems that this article is sorely in need of additions, in light of what one can find with a simple internet search (cf. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2006/06/26/8379985/index.htm or http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/25/business/25mario.html?_r=1&oref=slogin). It's not necessarily proof of anything, but the article was heavily edited by a single user who hasn't contributed to any other Wiki article. I'm going to tag the article as disputed, and hopefully I or someone else will have the time to compile some information about the investigations concerning Gabelli in the near future. A bit of investigation into the page history found that there had been a section on the Gabelli controversies that was inexplicably removed in February of 2007. I have edited this original section and made some other additions to the page. The article is more balanced now, although the major portions of the article still are unsourced. In addition, I find that the section entitled "Notable Memberships" is of doubtful value and is also completely unsourced. Opinions on removal? Praetextus (talk) 07:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

You can add this if you want.WikiEditCrunch (talk) 14:01, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Kind Regards WECReply

This article is absolute trash. It has clearly been edited by somebody wanting to hide any litigation he's been involved in over the years and has too many poorly written paragraphs about philanthropy. The Philanthropy section has paragraphs that could be sentences and the references could serve to tell the story if the reader so wished to pursue it. But the section Columbus Day Pararde - Grand Marshal is WP:TOOMUCH for an event like that.--JAMillerKC (talk) 15:12, 3 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've done my best to trim down the philanthropy. I think there is a lot that can still be done. User:Stephen Balaban - 21:04, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
