I started this article primarily as a List of All Items style article, then added some text to each item for clarification. It is not intended to be a discussion of papal Mariology, but a central list of official Vatican Marian documents, which I could not find elsewhere in Wikipedia. Format

I have started to list the documents in chronological order. The reason is (1) I think it better aids in following the development of thought over time; and (2) later documents frequently reference an earlier one, and someone might wish to trace them in order. The particular type is noted for each as to its relative importance, but may be less helpful in seeing what concepts were viewed as important at a particular time, and how the theological ideas developed.
