Contested deletion
editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the claims made concerning the importance/significance of the article subject are credible. If the article is being considered for deletion it should be done via a different route to enable discussion, not via a speedy. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 07:54, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance. As the article states, Doyon has recorded and released 11 studio albums; produced and collated several internationally regarded tribute albums to other musicians; started at least one literary magazine; and had his own writings published. He is notable in particular for his musical contributions. It may be a moot point whether the article should be renamed Wampeters (band) as that has perhaps been his most significant single musical contribution - but I concluded that as he is also known under his own name and as a member of other bands (eg Arms of Kismet) it was better to create an individual biography article. See for example [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:03, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Agreed. I'm not seeing him as particularly important, but this is obviously way beyond CSD. An AfD would allow a chance to properly study the sources and I'd very much doubt if such an AfD would be 'successful'. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:05, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
