Possible WP:AUTO issues

Just a quick note to alert editors to the fact that an article from the Daily Mail suggested this subject and his spouse are engaged in a WP:WAR on this article over their impending divorce. Without commenting on the veracity of the speculation, I'd suggest we add the following line of text to this article:

"In 2013 Mark and his wife of 15 years, Sondra, separated and initiated divorce proceedings."

The most reliable source I can find for this comes from an article in the Times. Any objections to this wording? NickCT (talk) 04:06, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Once again, it should be stressed that an IP address does not prove who was sat in front of the computer at the time. The Mail article is wrong to imply that a named individual was responsible for the edits, when an IP address alone cannot do this. The IP address in question is 194.60.38.198, and is registered to the Houses of Parliament. As for La Verdad 13, the account has made only two edits, both to this article. Figaro2000 has made only one edit to this article. I've left a message on the relevant talk pages. Nothing here verifies the Mail claim that Mark or Sondra Pritchard made the edits themselves, but the article needs watching for WP:COI edits.--♦IanMacM♦ ^{(talk to me)} 07:24, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

@♦IanMacM♦ - Agreed. There's no definitive evidence that either Pritchard or his wife/ex-wife are the source of these edits. NickCT (talk) 02:17, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Recent deletions

I have boldly removed some material from this article, including:

1. Words such as 'key', 'leading' etc which are peacock terms. In one case 'architect of a motion' was used when he merely supported a motion.
2. A severe shortening of the early life section. There was already a {{citation needed}} template for one claim but there were other unreferenced claims and other claims were only supported by Who's Who, which is composed of material submitted by the subject, as well as further claim supported by a reference to the subject's own website.

This article is a biography of a living person, a member of parliament, and it is important that only properly referenced material is contained within it. With these deletions and perhaps one or two further tweaks, I think it is now somewhere close to being reliable, if not complete. FunkyCanute (talk) 08:28, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
