I can't find any information on why this underwater tunnel is a better idea than a bridge. Surely it would be more expensive, and in an earthquake region would need extreme engineering. There are other bridges across the Bosporus so the engineering is better known. Maybe the idea is to hide it away. Flight Risk (talk) 20:11, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The article as it stands describes the sunk tubes. What I am interested in is how do the tubes form a water-tight seal with the bored tunnels, and how did the tunnel break through under the strait without flooding and destroying the TBM and killing its operators? --Scott DavisTalk23:22, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
