Maroa caldera

Hi, According to the most recent publications, there is no evidence for caldera collapse at Maroa after the Whakamaru event (ca. 349 ka). So I would use the term Maroa Volcanic Centre, which indicates some stage a large number of eruptions occurred within a confined area. These eruptions were dominated by effusive activity forming lava domes with some minor explosive activity at their initial stage. There were a few (4-5) explosive eruptions produced significant amount of pyroclastic material, but their size was most likely insufficient for caldera collapse. 202.36.215.242 (talk) 22:16, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
