Wrong map of the Maroni River, Suggest replacement.
editThis map that is the main image of the article is wrong (File:Maroni.png)
the blue line goes throughs several rivers, The Marowijne (French call it Maroni), Lawa, and then it Sudenly takes course into the Litani. this is incorrect. the border between French Guiana and Suriname is agreed in a protocol, that is approved by france, but is currently in the parliament of Suriname for approval. This confirms the exact borders with coordinates from the mouth of the Marowijne, to the Lawa and up till the the start of the point where the Litani and Marowini river come together, there is the start of the disputed area. that part was never settled between France and the Netherlands, and somehow the world labels "Claimed by Suriname" on all their maps.
to get back to the discussion, the border is formed by 3 rivers, 2 of them, the Marowijne and Lawa are being discussed by France and Suriname. the Third River, which settles the disputed area is pending. so till then i suggest that the image i shared above be removed, because it is simply wrong. Maroni (Marowijne) is only the name of PART of the boundary rivers, not the complete boundary. SurinameCentral (talk) 23:30, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
