editIf it is a Belgian, then his name must be written Van Schelle and not van Schelle. The names who start by "Van" (~from) are always written with an uppercase letter in Flanders (the Dutch speaking part of Belgium; his name is flemish). This is in contrast to the Netherlands (they speak dutch like the Flemish), where names are often written van. editThe German-language Wikipedia explains that his mother had survived two attacks on ships, but later died as a result. The Lusitania thesis could actually be easily verified. 93.129.137.22 (talk) 07:30, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
