Date of Patent
editI have found conflicting statements for the date of Ms. Anderson's patent. Both obituaries (here and here) indicate the patent was from 1903, the first indicates it was a 17 year patent and the second that it ended in 1920, while the About.com story here states in the opening that the patent was in 1905 but in the text it states 1903. I have gone with 1903 for the time being as I am unsure of the RS status of about.com whereas a newspaper should be more reliable and there's two entries. If someone can find a better source for the date please add it. Stardust8212 23:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- She applied for the patent on June 18, 1903 and it was granted on November 10, 1903. (google patent link) --Dystopos (talk) 23:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

- That webshot was taken during the one-minute period between the time the article was vandalized and the time that a bot reverted the vandalism. --Orlady (talk) 14:21, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

- You do realize that I took that shot on the exact same day that I posted it here, right?

Likely not the windshield wiper inventor
editSome vehicles already had windshield wipers when Anderson supposed came up with her invention. At least one patent predated hers by 5 or 6 years.
