The statement "brought up there by her stepgrandfather Clarence W. Barron," is directly contradicted by her in her autobiography, Autobiography of a Spy, where she says she was raised by her "Grandfather Bancroft". Her mother had died of an embolism two hours after giving birth to her, and she was carried off by her Grandmother Bancroft and her coachman, Nolan, "to my grandparent's home, where I was to live for the next fifteen years." Her father didn't remarry for another five years, so she could hardly have been brought up by a stepgrandfather that she did not yet have! (She also seems to have been born in Cambridge, not Boston.) - Nunh-huh04:04, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
