editI will be adding to this page as a school assignment. I have found multiple additional sources that (for now) you can access on my sandbox page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cindychristy1231/sandbox
I don't believe I will be editing anything currently on this page. I would love suggestions and help an any of my additions. This is my first Wikipage. Cindychristy1231 (talk) 17:39, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
I have additional references to add content and cite. In order for the article to flow properly, I've integrated content throughout. I will include the following sections: Article Background Harry Thuku Disturbances (her death is included in this section) Aftermath Tradition of stripping as an insult and curse Lagacy, including song, poem, accounts from more recent protests that incite Mary Muthoni Nyranjiru Cindychristy1231 (talk) 03:13, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Additional Sections to be added
editI am going to add a section on Mary Nyanjiru's legacy. Poem's, songs, book and how her name and legacy was invoked during the Mau Mau uprising.
Another section with more explanation of protesting by removing clothing. Cindychristy1231 (talk) 03:08, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Cindy's peer review
editYou added a lot of good information reguarding Mary Muthoni Nyanjiru. I think that you have done great research and added important information to learn about this person. I do not have any suggestions for you that you would need to apply to this article. I feel that you have got this down pat and so far do not need any improvements from my point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmtripp11 (talk • contribs) 22:12, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Final edits; I added the section on legacy with a few more references. I cleaned up some spelling and punctuation areas. I also moved some content around, though I deleted nothing, only added legacy section. I have quite a bit of references on women striping as a severe form of protest, I am not sure if that short blurb in the middle section (Harry Thuku Disturbance) has enough explaination of the magnitude of severity that this form of protest was viewed. Also, that it was one of the only actions a women could use as protest.
I visited the Nairobi National Museum during my (oddly coincidental) trip to Nairobi. In the museum is a painting of the scene directly after the bloodshed. I had limited time, and couln not find out information about the artist. The photo I took of the painting in horribly reflected. So I'm adding a link to a google image of the painting, in hopes that someone will have information on this piece of art. I am presently in Nairobi for another five days and hope to get back to the museu. I don't know if it's a copywrite infridgemnent to add a URL to the google image here, so I won't do that - though I'm happy to share the link if appropriate! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cindychristy1231 (talk • contribs) 16:55, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
Reference issues
editI've been trying diligently to fix the two errors in the article references. I can't seem to find a place to edit the actual reference. The two issues are in the red font in the reference section — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cindychristy1231 (talk • contribs) 16:58, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
