Degree programs

edit

Deletion of the cited degree programs - according to user deleting the degree content this is per Wikipedia:College and university article advice & Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, however we can and should discuss degree programs per Wikipedia:College and university article advice. Instead of edit warring over this topic, please help make this a better article and work together. Jooojay (talk) 05:25, 29 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

WP:UNIGUIDE explicitly says: "Because Wikipedia is not a directory, do not attempt to list every major, degree, or program offered in this or any section." Even if we ignore that advice, this is still a very rare practice in college and university articles. So there is both explicit and implicit consensus against doing this. Why should we make an exception for this article? How do readers gain from us offering that level of detail instead of providing a broad overview and leaving the details to the college's own documents (where they'll always be up-to-date and accurate)? You are correct ElKevbo and I am not "fighting" with you. It would be helpful if you actually edited the WP content to be better, OR you added to the talk page remarks upon deletion. We can't know what your reasoning was if you don't take the time to document it, and deletion of large chunks of data warrants a reason. You wrote in your edit: "unsourced and unnecessary," which is subjective. Jooojay (talk) 05:51, 29 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

wording issue

"it was regarded as one of the oldest art colleges in the United States". So when did that change? And how is it regarded now? Besides, age should just be a statement of fact...it is either one of the oldest or it is not. Should "regard" not be reserved for points of reputation rather than points of fact? "This institute is regarded as being in Maryland"? Meh...not so much — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.80.64.216 (talk) 13:54, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
