The mascot section needs a reliable source since it is currently sourced by a personal website that apparently has no validation checks on the information it posts. The notable alumni section also need citations sourcing this.--Isotope23 18:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the section as hopelessly counterfactual speculation and original research. JoshuaZ 04:11, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Joshua for your posts. The original version of Homer Croy had a reference. Albert David should be here but I'm still looking for a formal reference. Dale Carnegie left before he graduated and should not be on the article. Americasroof 04:27, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is a high school in the state of Missouri. The so-called Maryville High School.

A place where you might get on your sodomy with a hot curling iron. --Auric talk 12:49, 20 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Article rename/move

edit

@Americasroof: I stumbled upon this article again after years, and am impressed with its thoroughness. However I was struck that much of the content is really about the district not the high school. Would you be comfortable with me (or you) proposing a move to something like Maryville R-II School District? That way the level of detail about prior one room school houses and other Maryville high schools could be maintained without it seeming off-topic. I could alternatively support two separate articles, thanks to the level of sourcing you’ve provided—one for the district and one for the high school, similar to how larger cities do it. Grey Wanderer (talk) 01:44, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for asking. It's been a long time! You were one of the first contributors I met on Wikipedia and provide a lot of encouragement for a newbie. Since Maryville only has one high school the article very definitely focuses on the high school and the history of its buildings. I am basically the only person making significant contributions to the article and I would adamantly be opposed to moving it to the school district. In that scenario the only other schools in the district are the elementary and middle schools. If you want to start an article on the school district that's fine, but I don't want the high school stuff article moved there. Americasroof (talk) 17:20, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good to me. I may start a district article at some point, if so I will move the district content there with attribution to you and link the new article from this page. Thanks, good to hear from you. Grey Wanderer (talk) 16:07, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
