Is there error ?
F 1 6/1953 15th Grand Prix de Belgique Johnny Claes 3 Officine Alfieri Maserati
F 1 6/1953 15th Grand Prix de Belgique Juan Manuel Fangio 3
which is consistent with the information in the relevant Wikipedia articles (and Mike Lang's Grand Prix! Vol 1). The race report in Grand Prix! indicates that Fangio (who had taken over Claes' car) started the last (36th) lap in 3rd place, but spun off halfway around the lap. Only Ascari and Villoresi completed all 36 laps. Under today's rules, Fangio and Claes would therefore have been classified 3rd, as the fastest of the cars to complete 35 laps. However, my guess is there was a rule in force at the time that you had to cross the finish line to be classified, which meant that Fangio/Claes weren't classified, thereby elevating Marimon to 3rd. I have removed the entries from the table, for consistency with the other Wikipedia articles. DH85868993 (talk) 12:43, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
