The prima ballerina assoluta question

Kschessinska was never named Prima ballerina assoluta(a title she attained through influence more than anything else - read Petipa's diaries).

It is not known who was the first, second, third, etc. Ballerina to hold such a title, but there were Danseuses who held the title of Prima Ballerina Assoluta/Del Mondo in Italy, and France (such as Adèle Dumilâtre).

Fanny Elssler was Prima Ballerina Assoluta to the Imperial Ballet during the late 1840s.

Anyway, to claim that Kschessinskaya was the second Prima Assoluta is inaccurate (See Ballet of the Second Empire by Ivor Guest if you need references) Mrlopez2681 16:01, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Kschessinska or Kschessinskaya

We seem to be mixing these up with gay abandon. For example, the article has Kschessinska in the title, but Kschessinskaya in the lede. We need to settle on one form and use it consistently. My understanding is that her stage name was Kschessinska, so that should determine what we refer to her as. I know that Russians would probably have called her Kschessinskaya, as the feminine version of Kschessinsky, but that's not relevant to the issue. -- JackofOz (talk) 01:19, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

As her father's name was not Kschessinsky but Krzesinski, her name would have been Krzesinska? Surely? I mean, she was often called Kschessinska(ya), but her father's name counts for something. TheDyingSwan (talk) 17:42, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

Relationship with Nicholas II

Title

Was she Princess Romanovskaya-Krasinskaya or Grand Duchess Romanovskaya-Krasinskaya? Since her husband was a Grand Duke I had assumed she would have adopted his rank and style. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 03:30, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

Early Life Section Error

In the second half of this section, it is mentioned that a performance of hers in 1881 was attended by Tsar Alexander III and the rest of the imperial family, including the Tsesarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich; however, the hyperlink is leading to the wrong Nicholas Alexandrovich, brother of then Tsar Alexander III who had died in 1865, rather than Nicholas II, son of Alexander III. 2600:1700:25B1:D3C0:9931:B776:C56B:2A48 (talk) 21:56, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
