Matt Taylor (soccer) → Matt Taylor (American soccer) – See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (sportspeople): "Do NOT attempt to differentiate between people simply by the qualifiers "(footballer)" and "(soccer)". Association football and soccer are different names for the same game in different parts of the English-speaking world." (emphasis original). There are at least three men of the same name who play the same sport, one of whom played in the Premier League for a decade. Yes, the primary player is at Matthew Taylor (footballer) but there are a million references in which he was called Matt or Matty. [1][2][3] It is condescending to American readers to believe that they are only looking for a man from their own country when they are searching a man called Matt Taylor who played the sport organised by FIFA. 90.240.52.26 (talk) 12:35, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
