Death

edit

I'm having doubts as to the validity of Matthew's death. As of this comment, it is only being reported by tabloids, and only by ones discouraged by Wikipedians from being used as sources. See Metro 1 2 3, The Sun 1, 2, 3. The jury seems to be out on the reliability of The Mirror. I'm having a difficult time finding a non-tabloid source reporting this information with independent confirmation. I thought it may be worth mentioning. Also, the Dirk Maggs tweet in The Sun's article doesn't appear to exist. I couldn't find it, only articles repeating The Sun's line. GSK (talkedits) 15:19, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've been informed by a friend that the tweet does exist, but if it's accurate, then we've got the wrong date of death. There are still no reliable sources I'm able to find. GSK (talkedits) 15:53, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've seen that tweet. I don't know how Twitter does its timestamps, but for me (in BST zone) it shows as 11:34 pm on 15 September. MIDI (talk) 17:23, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
BBC has confirmed his death. GSK (talkedits) 18:58, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Here's an updated newspaper (tabloid) link citing some more details https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11042877/Who-Wants-Millionaire-composer-Matthew-Strachan-leaves-1-5million-will.html - in case you're interested 187.135.186.70 (talk) 02:48, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
