editThis seems more like an advertisement for him vs. an actual article about a significant Christian Songwriter. I think it should be deleted.
I disagree, this dosn't need to be deleted, however, it needs to be redone. Casey14 18:12, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- He's also fairly new to the music scene, so there isn't much yet. Give it time. Splent 18:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Matthew West, the music artist?
editWhat happened to the article on Matthew West, the Christian musician? --Rick Beckman 02:04, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Someone created a new page for the artist Matthew West and placed it over the top of his article. I took care of the disambiguation. Royalbroil T : C 14:55, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
GA Review

- The use of "#1" is being phased out in favour of "number one"... and spelling out all numbers up to ten.
- Done.
- Check italics for publishers of refs... random examples; All Music Guide shouldn't have italics, Christian Music Today should, etc. Check 'em all.
- Sorry if I'm being a bit dense here, but could you clarify what ought to be done exactly? The italics depends on if I'm using either the "work" or "publisher" parameters, of course. But still, I'm not quite sure which ones to change.
- Sure—sorry I wasn't more clear in the first place. Basically, per MOS:ITALICS, magazines, newspapers, and the like need italics. Plain websites don't. That's the gist of it anyways.
- Done Thanks for the clarification, I had to refresh myself on what to italicize. Understood now, all refs have been checked and done.

- "He was a songwriter and independent musician from 1997—2002." - en dashes should be used to seperate years (I only know because I did User:Tony1/Know your Manual of Style the other day, I swear!)
- Ah, didn't realize I was using an em dash there (my browser doesn't show a big difference between em and en dashes much). Done.
- Dates are mostly wlinked, but you forget sometimes like at "was released on June 20,". It's not optional but you need to be consistent in presentation and in linking status.
- Well, I added wikilinks to full dates for consistency, or only Month/day instances. I'd like a bit of clarification on this one too. Should all of the day/month-only instances be linked? Thanks.
- Yep; you basically have a few options. 1) Don't link any dates. 2) Link all as Month Day. 3) Link all as Day Month. Linking the year technically isn't required (ever) but it's just done as a half linked date would look odd. (This is all per WP:DATE/MOS:SYL.) —Giggy 07:03, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

- "West kicked off his own 30-city History 101 tour" - of course it was "his own" since he kicked it off and was the only person on it. Work on little redundancies like this one.
- Done I tweaked the one you mentioned, and I'll take a look through the article to see if I can find any similar prose issues.
- TobyMac is presented with the T both lowercase and uppercase in the article; be consistent.
- Done.
Check all these things off and leave me a note when done, please. Cheers —Giggy 10:13, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

How is this guy from Tennessee if he was born in Chicago? That doesn't make any sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drkqn9 (talk • contribs) 20:29, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
- He is from (currently lives in) Tennessee. His origin was Illinois, but his current home is Tennessee. Royalbroil 00:54, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
