Indeed he has always been cagey about his age and early life, hinting that he was a Jewish refugee from the Nazis invading his eastern European homeland and that Cryer is an anglicised form of his real surname, but a producer of his shows says he in fact grew up in Pukekohe, and is not Jewish --Hugh7 (talk) 20:27, 1 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
