In spite of the inconsistencies of the Mayo Kaan controversy as to he being the first Superman, I can say that to a degree he honestly believed it. I visited the man when he lived in Winthrop and was a practicing chiropractor. Down his cellar Gym I viewed newspaper clippings written in 1939-40 about his being drafted into the services due to the second world war. The headlines for this Watertown newspaper clipping read. "Superman is being drafted." It stated that the intent of Hollywood was that he would serve as an actor for the Superman character after his service was over. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.233.108.235 (talk) 02:41, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
