Pronunciation of McKenna in North Kerry.
editIn North Kerry, McKenna is pronounced as if its Irish spelling were "Mac an Átha." The uncited entry of "Mac Ginea" in the lede looks like an estimate of the North Kerry pronunciation. I don't have an entry in my Irish dictionary for "Ginea." Gortaleen (talk) 15:11, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
Lack of references
editThe first paragraph suggests the surname is Irish but there is no reference to prove it. Need some evidence to back up the claim 2A00:23C4:CB01:6701:845F:8278:2C31:BCE3 (talk) 14:58, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- McKennas that have public Y DNA haplogroup results are Irish: http://scaledinnovation.com/gg/treeExplorer.html?snp=R-A14075 Gortaleen (talk) 20:01, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
