I oppose merging the article on Mefistofle and Boito. Other operas have independent articles (c.f. La Boheme, Maria Stuarda). I've deleted the merge suggestion. --FourthAve 00:46, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

Sydney Opera Company 1974

In 1974 the Sydney Opera Company gave Australia's premiere performance of Mefistofele with Vadim Laptev as Mefistofele. The performance was recorded on LP by Festival Records. I suspect there would only be approximately 100 of these recordings.

I was in the chorus of 90 members during dress rehearsal in the Sydney Opera House when, dressed in costume, I heard a sound in the corridor behind a stage door.
