Kenji

edit

Kenji's name has been translated incorrectly this entire time. Heatman of Atomic Fire has confirmed it to be Satoru, and he has changed it. So don't change it back to Kenji. That is all. ~/o/ Sukecchi 03:55, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah, gotcha. Sorry about that. 24.250.248.235 21:13, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Changin'

edit

I see the person who can't listen has changed everything BACK to Netopia and the /??? >_< I do believe you 203.124.2.18 were told to stop changing it back. So stop. Or do you need to see the talk page for that IP address that says to stop vandalizing the EXE6 page? Sukecchi 19:35, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree fully, the name of Netto's new home is Central Town or Saiba City, not Netopia. I keep changing Netopia back to Central Town because SOMEONE can't pay attention. I asked them to stop two times on their talk page but they keep doing it. I put the Ameroupe/Netopia is a county not a town addition on there...sorry about that. ^^; Sukecchi 19:57, 16 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to address this personally.

To whomever that is constantly reverting to inconsistent information on this page, STOP. Most of the current info has been confirmed, as well as the Japanese subtitles of the games. The name "Faltzer" can still be debatable, but "Greiga" has been confirmed. In addition, the protagonists did not move to the country of Netopia.

Also, stop inserting question marks near the antagonists of the game; it simply clutters the article. They will be inserted once the English game is released. 24.250.248.235 19:39, 16 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Circus vs. Clown

edit

Isn't CircusMan supposed to be ClownMan? Because when I looked at one of the sprites of his Master Chip @ Sprites Inc, I thought it was ClownMan. When I came across this, it's called CircusMan =\

Maybe CircusMan might probably be the stronger version of ClownMan, even though their battle pattern is similar (like the hands)?

--Datavi X 08:55, 5 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Circusman IS NOT, I repeat, IS NOT Clownman. Sure they are both Clown based but Circusman is EXE6's Grand Prize Winner for the Navi Contest.

When Beast first aired and the intro came out, many people thought he was Clownman, but alas, he is not.

Clownman doesn't have an EXE Counterpart anyway. Circusman is Circusman, and Coloredman is Coloredman.

Beast out

edit

I've looked into this gameplay element, and it looks like an extension of Cross Fusion or Soul Unison. Perhaps we should merge said information (or make an section dedicated) in said afterorementioned articles. I've yet to (and won't) play this iteration, so I need verfication on this. -ZeroTalk 06:22, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

It has nothing to do with Cross Fusion and it's not a Soul Unison, it's fine where it is. Sukecchi 15:40, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Then perhaps I should scower for images and construct a new article for it. I think that sounds sensible. -ZeroTalk 15:42, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Beast Out doesn't need a new article for it. It's clearly described here for what it does in the game. Perhaps an addition to the anime artice or maybe (Since it is a key element in the Cross System) make an Article for the Cross System and add Beast Out to it? I mean, Soul Unison, Cross Fusion, and (probably style change) have their own articles...so why not the Cross System?Sukecchi 16:08, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. I really think it deserves a more fleashed out description in an article. However, I am fairly ignorant regarding it, and from your thesis, it seems like a section in the Cross system would be valid; I suspect you know better than I regarding this subject, so do what you think best. -ZeroTalk 16:11, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Beast out is somewhat like soul unison for the part that does have a turn limit. It emphasizes the basis that he is exhausted after he uses it, and cannot 'turn it off' until the three turns are over. Once you activate it, you must go through until he enters 'tired' mode. This most likely represents the fact that he is struggling to control his cyberbeast, and when you activate it again, he loses control, and for that turn, goes berserk, and after that, he's pretty much dead.

Faltzer/Falzar and Grega/Greiga

edit

I'm sure their names are foreign (either French or German) and I've been trying to find out their meanings.

Would anyone know? =\

--Datavi X 20:28, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

To be honest, there's probably no meaning to their names. Maybe my fellow editor knows, but chances are slim. 24.250.248.235 02:26, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

{{spoiler}}

I don,t Know either what the names of the beasts mean, but I know one was made from bugs gathering together on the net (Grega), and Faltzer was made to distroy it, but endded up glitching up, and both became a danger in the net ( this was what I got from the Japanese game).

Cross System

edit

I would like to take the Cross System info and put it in it's own article...then put a link on this page to it? Sound good?Sukecchi 00:18, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wily and Barrel

edit

The list of Navis and Operators is for...well navis and operators only. That means no Wily.

In the end of the game, Colonel and Iris sacrfice themselves to destroy whichever Beast you fight. They are not evil, stop putting them in the enemies. Sukecchi 12:27, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Colonel

edit

{{spoiler}}

Well, there is thing weird about this game...People playing Megaman Battle Network 5 Team Protoman would not know about Colonel in Team Protoman's storyline (because he is in Team Colonel's storyline). Yet when Colonel appears in the JudgeTree Comp, Megaman apparently knows him, is there something I missed? I don't have Team Protoman so I am assuming that Colonel doesn't appear there. --Typer525 Talk Click here at your own risk 22:05, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uhm at the end Colonel helps you defeat Nebula Grey As Blues does in TOC so the big problem about them not knowing is if they havnt played 5 not which version played-Goku9821
K thanks, I haven't thought of that --Typer525 Talk 18:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I thought it was Colonel in either game. Das654 {{endspoiler}}

Hakushaku

edit

It was recently discovered that the Hakushaku chip can be obtained without any cheats in the game though the chip has no picture, does not appear in the library,ad any attempt to use it will freeze the game i figured i would ask here before i put it in the article bnecause im not sure if it would be considered vital information--Goku9821

Not a bad idea to put it in. I've heard using the "Hackjack" chip can actually damage your savefile, not just freeze the game. Apparently the DjangoV1/V2/V3 chips have also been found and have the same effect. ~ CZeke 10:21, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Confused

edit

Does Megaman die? the summary is so confusing. Thanks. Ilikefood 16:11, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's perfectly fine,. >_> -Sukecchi 22:12, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

and no he does not die (70.187.185.194 07:43, 2 January 2007 (UTC))Reply
How can you argue that it's perfectly fine? Ilikefood simply stated that he found the summary confusing. That's up to him alone whether he finds it confusing or not. Just because you don't find it confusing doesn't mean it's not confusing. Btw, the summary is confusing.--69.138.189.97 00:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Um, yeah, the story section needs expanding. Although I probably only think that because that's the only reason I'm reading the article.  :)12.207.82.237 21:47, 1 September 2007 (UTC)unidentifiedReply

edit

Should info be added regarding the nature of the Link Navis being playable as a semi-permanent effect? In the Japanese version, the Link Navi chips can be placed into the Beast Gate, and by going through a process, can replace Rockman. Also, they can be leveled up, from 1-9, then SP. The navis controllable are the Link Navis from both versions, and Blues. --Reploidof20xx (TALK) 08:58, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Glaga

edit

Capcom of Japan's official romanization for the cybeast that is phonetically 'Guureegah' is 'Glaga' and not Greiga, Gregar, or anything else. I'm sick of having to revert back after people try to be 'helpful' and change it to Griega. Please, don't do it again.--LordHuffNPuff 18:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just to clarify, everyone, it appears on an e-Reader card.—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 00:09, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Heh, the e+ Reader card doesn't say Glaga because the name is in Japanese. Glaga is from the Official Character Guide, as well as the Glaga edition LiNK_PET and Beast Link Gate.--LordHuffNPuff 15:40, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assessment

edit

I'm not pulling this up to B-Class, not even C-Class. What this article needs is CITES! WP: CITE will be a helpful tool for you in that regard. Next, you need to destroy about 80% of the Gameplay section, for Wikipedia is not a video game guide. WP: NOT and WP:NOTGUIDE. You also need to create a Development section (Development of the game), and expand the Critical Reception section to include sales data and direct quotes from reviewers. {{VG Reviews}} may help greatly.

As for the prose, you need to revise the plot line to make it sound more professional, though I agree the plot is the most difficult section of VG article writing. The Lead section needs to comply to WP: LEAD and include all elements of VG Article Lead standards, including Release Dates, Reception, and Gameplay. Each needs a tiny summary in the lead.

I'm aware that the stuff I'm asking is GA standard, but just get a start on some of that, do a bit of revising, ADD CITES, and you're good for C and B class.

(Citing Format: {{citeweb|url=|title=|author=Last, First|publisher=[[]]|date=2008-06-29|accessdate=2008-06-29}}) --haha169 (talk) 05:09, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I will not double assess this article. Please don't request for another assessment unless you've really adequately addressed my concerns above.
The citing format NEEDS to be cited in this format: (also shown above) {{citeweb|url=|title=|author=Last, First|publisher=[[]]|date=2008-06-29|accessdate=2008-06-29}}). Then, replace the References section with {{reflist}}. Remove all that unnecessary stuff in Gampelay, or CITE them. Expand greatly on the Reception section, (see other VG articles for examples). And create a development section. You have do all of those, not perfectly, but do them, if you want C or B class. The ref styling is in horrible condition and need fixing immediately. --haha169 (talk) 17:43, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

[V] References [V] Gameplay delete unimportant stuff [V] Development section [V] Critical reaction expand

V=done, X=not done or working Moogle 12 (talk) 08:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not bad. I'll be checking in on your improvements every now and then to give you some more suggestions. Check out WP: V for citation sources - GameFAQ guides are not verifiable under Wikipedia policy, so those need to be replaced by something reliable, or at least better. --haha169 (talk) 16:56, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
my development is kinda short, but will it do? Moogle 12 (talk) 23:41, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think the article is ready for assessment. I'll just sum it up. I've cited everything in the gameplay except the "tagchip sys". the development is kinda short too. I added a comment from Gamespot in the critical reaction. just tell me what things I have to do. Moogle 12 (talk) 08:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Here are just a few things you might want to work on:
  1. [V]The lead section should technically be three paragraphs. The first paragraph is fine, but you should also have one with a brief overview of the game plot, and another brief paragraph talking about some of the reception.  Y
  2. [X]The "Story" section needs to be trimmed and split into more paragraphs, it could also maybe use some references.
  3. [V]The "Gameplay" section should have less sub-headers and more of the paragraphs should be combined. It could also do with some trimming.  Y
  4. [?]The "Boktai Removal" and "Other cuts" sections need references, and should possibly be merged.
  5. [?]The "Development" section needs to be expanded.
  6. [V]The "Critical reception" section could do with some expansion; give quotes from reviews, etc. Y
Just my two cents, but if you take care of all the things I mentioned above, I think this could become a good article in no time. Artichoker[talk] 14:16, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

ok, the "?" represents "It looks fine but I think i should do something or not..?" Moogle 12 (talk) 11:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have cleaned up the lead section a little bit. It looks a lot better, but it still needs some more copy-editing.
The "Content Removal" section really needs some references.
The "Development" section needs to be expanded. Add some more information; see if you can find some interviews with the game designers.
Good work so far; keep going. Cheers, Artichoker[talk] 15:31, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

is the Gameplay in ok condition? I can't find any interview on the net about the game, so the development is stuck tight. Moogle 12 (talk) 11:46, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The "Gameplay" section is looking good now. Later today, if I get time, I'll try searching for some sources for development. Artichoker[talk] 16:35, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
My only problems are the Development and Boktai cuts. I can't find anything on the two! the Story is no problem, I just need to ref/cite them. Moogle 12 (talk) 14:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I couldn't get around to searching for some sources for development. I'll try to do that today. But if you can't find any sources of the "Other cuts" section, then that section will just have to be removed. Artichoker[talk] 14:31, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for not replying in such a long time. But it seems Artichoker is doing a great job helping you out, Moogle. As for the article: the article's state is perhaps 5 times better than the first assessment. Good job! The development section still needs quite a bit of work...and "Content Removal" needs serious citations. And...I believe there is a specific interview cite web template that should be used for current ref 7? --haha169 (talk) 21:09, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you listen to Artichoker, I can guarantee B-class. GA will have to depend on whether or not you can find good sources. --haha169 (talk) 17:19, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, Moogle. Good job on ref 7. Sorry for such a late reply. I've been really busy: here --haha169 (talk) 17:51, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Spoilers?

edit

isnt the "story" part of video games suspossed to only talk about the main point of the game? not tell the whole story, now the rest of the game is ruined for me Coolman1250 (talk) 08:25, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Some info please...

edit

Can someone elaborate on the removed content? In the Mega Man (franchise) article, as one of the criticisms of the series, it sites MMBN 6 as the most notable example of removal of game play elements for the sake of censorship. Is the information in that article correct?

what do you mean by "for the sake of censorship"? there are no differences in terms of "game play elements" (well, aside from the Boktai crossover) between the JP and US versions iirc and what does that have to do with censorship. also, please sign your post with four "~"s or whatever you call them. Moogle 12 (talk) 12:42, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Removals include all Boktai content, the Kaizou (e+ card) system as well as the Beast Link Gate functionality, where players could transfer characters they had trained and leveled on a separate LiNK PET_EX system into their game to replace Rockman. This system allowed for dynamic adjustment of character statistics as well as the ability to use characters that were normally unplayable. So yeah, that's a lot of content removal right there. It was in the article and now it's gone. I don't know why it was removed. EDIT: Looks like it was vandalized out. I'm putting it back.--LordHuffnPuff (talk) 20:01, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
