Roll Costumes
editDo we have a 100% certainty that this release schedule will remain unchanged? This information is purely speculation that came from an unofficial hack of a game save which simply had them listed in that order. LanceHeart 01:08, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
There is confirmation that the release schedule will not remain the same as the order of the costume appearance in the game's listing. This confirmation is that Knight Roll, which was the first (or second) on the list, is being released in May, not January (or February...) The months of the release of each costume should remain "Unknown" until each costume is released.
- Dude, Knight Roll's release date was never listed as January or February. It was listed as May, which is exactly when it's being released. -TPIRFanSteve 21:15, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and one last queston, how do you download Roll?
Proper Name
editWhy is this game called "Mega Man: Powered Up" on Wikipedia? It should be "Mega Man Powered Up", without the ":", according to the game itself and other sources, indicating it's the full title, not a subtitle or anything like that.

Note: Pictured here is the original Oil Man design, which resembled blackface, an old racial stereotype from early American cartoons (he has overly large lips and black skin akin to racist propaganda of black people), and was given the nickname "Nigger Man" on various Internet discussion groups. As such, he was recolored for the international market; however, Japan retains the original design.

How to Unlock: Proto Man can be acquired by defeating all 100 challenges in Challenge Mode.
- Non-Playable Characters
- Dr. Light (Dr. Right)
A brilliant scientist who created all of robots described above. He is also responsible for turning Mega into Mega Man.
- Dr. Wily
An evil genius who plans to conquer the world. He has kidnapped and reprogrammed many of Dr. Light's robots to make his goals a reality.
- Mega Man
This seems somewhat "crufty" and exceptionally inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Perhaps a viable insertion in wikibooks might be warranted, but certainly cannot be allowed in the course of explaining the knowledgeable qualities of a remade video game. I've also taken the initiative to clean-up and elaborate on the gameplay section. As for the images, take a trip over to Robot Master, oh in say, an hour or two to see what I'm doing with them. -ZeroTalk 14:46, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Creating a new article for the download dates?
editSince the release dates are starting to take up an insane amount of space, and considering that the schedule will extend for a projected year, should the download dates be put into a separate article altogether in order to remove the unnecessary length to the article?

Blues download
editCapcom are putting up an activator for Blues, and planning to release it February 23rd. --Reploidof20xx (TALK) 01:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Article needs to be moved
editThe correct name of the game is Mega Man Powered Up. It doesn't have a colon as it's named on this Wikipedia article (See here: [1]). I'm going to move it maybe tomorrow. There's at least 30 articles that link to this article so it'll be a hefty job correcting every one. Just a heads up. - Throw 11:44, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Goof section added
editI have added to goofs to the game, these can prove vital to the gameplay and aid people with the information available, thank you. Dark Halen 2 (talk) 19:01, 25 November 2007 (UTC)25th November 2007Dark Halen 2 (talk) 19:01, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but the "goofs" section is a trivia section and they are already discouraged in the first place (see template in the Trivia section). Not only that, but the entire section pertains to in-game tricks, which is not something Wikipedia should normally cover. LanceHeart 05:26, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I think it should since it is done in other game areas, therefore it is acceptible Dark Halen 2 23:00, 2 December 2007 (UTC)2nd DecemberDark Halen 2 23:00, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- This article begs to differ. Let me quote a passage for you. As the article says, "Lists of cheats or codes. Some codes may be notable and suitable for articles, such as the famed Konami Code, but the method of performing a code that's confined to only a few games and has no special claim to fame is unsuitable for Wikipedia."
- As such, your in-game trivia is not admissible for Wikipedia, but could be for its corresponding Wikia. LanceHeart 02:08, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

"468 New Style stages?"
editA quote from the current version's lead:
- There are actually 468 New Style stages in this mode, 13 for each difficulty (Easy, Normal, and Hard), and 39 for each character (see list of playable characters below).
I think it's a bit much to count each stage's difficulty level as a whole new stage considering the only thing that changes is the way some enemies act or react. Same goes for saying each playable character's game should be considered a totally separate set of thirteen levels—that's like saying Super Mario Bros. 2 contains eighty levels because its twenty can be played with four characters. Possible Re-targeting?
editDoes anyone else think that this should redirect to the specific section on Mega Man Powered Up, rather than the main article on Mega Man 1?--Unscented (talk) 21:15, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, since no one seems to object, I guess I'll re-target it, then.--99.251.239.89 (talk) 22:25, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

- a side-scrolling platform video game developed and published by Capcom in 2006 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld game console. - This sentence is too long. Break it down into: "a side-scrolling platform video game developed and published by Capcom", and "It was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld game console in March 2006".
- Powered Up was designed by series mainstay Keiji Inafune - He is listed under the producer field instead of the designer field in the info box
- and announced for a US release later in the year - not really needed.
- Removed. GamerPro64 19:43, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
- but a US release did not occur due to technical difficulties - not only US, but also other western regions like Europe etc.
- Can't find anything about European release. It's possible one wasn't planned from the get-go. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- You need to mention the game's critical reception in the lead.
- the latter two which were added for the remake). - "which" is not needed. I don't think a plot section needs this actually. It can be put in the development section or the gameplay section instead.
- I removed it. Not fully sure it should be in the article. GamerPro64 03:24, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Plot section doesn't seem to be completed. I was expecting more details, or at least a proper ending. It is a "setting" section instead of a "plot" section as it stands now.
- I added an ending to the Plot section and a citation. GamerPro64 02:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- has similar gameplay and level designs to it. - "to it" is not needed
- Removed. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Wikilink 2D, 8-bit
- Mega Man empties his life meter - I don't think this is an active action. Rephrased it to "Lives will be consumed if Mega Man touches certain spikes, or falls into a pit." or something similar
- Changed it to the suggestion you provided. GamerPro64 19:15, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- The first paragraph is unsourced
- For the "Gameplay" section? There's a source in there. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- The paragraph should at least end with a citation though. AdrianGamer (talk) 12:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- Added another citation to it. Kinda hard to kind stuff on those details. Not positive if the instruction booklet would help. GamerPro64 01:46, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- The paragraph should at least end with a citation though. AdrianGamer (talk) 12:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- For the "Gameplay" section? There's a source in there. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- eight different stages, each represented by - should be "each representing"
- (in contrast with six in the original) - not needed
- Removed. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Their respective "powers" has limited ammunition?
- Changed from "powers" to "weapon". GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- The IGN source only supports If Mega Man defeats the Robot Master using his primary weapon, the Robot Master will be captured and reprogrammed. This allows players to play through stages as one of the Robot Master but not other information presented in the second paragraph
- Added another source in the paragraph. GamerPro64 03:24, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- It was designed by Keiji Inafune. - Producer or designer?
- Producer. GamerPro64 04:09, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- It was announced for a US release on November 8, 2005 under the title Mega Man Powered Up. - What about Europe and other places?
- Found a Eurogamer source that had its release date in it. GamerPro64 19:33, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- It was featured at Capcom's annual Gamer's Day convention in Las Vegas in 2006 - Games tend to be shown off in most gaming convention. It should not be a special case unless something major happened there.
- Removed it and its source. GamerPro64 19:33, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- What is UMD?
- It was slated to be re-released on the PSP's PlayStation Network service along with other Capcom PSP titles including Maverick Hunter X - "released".
- Done. Though looking at the comment below this it might be made moot. GamerPro64 19:33, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- It was bundled with Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X on UMD.[13] It was slated to be re-released on the PSP's PlayStation Network service along with other Capcom PSP titles including Maverick Hunter X - It was bundled with and released along Maverick Hunter X. Two sentences are talking about the same thing.
- I removed "including Maverick Hunter X" from the second sentence. GamerPro64 03:24, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Quotes should be paraphrased
- Any particular examples? GamerPro64 03:24, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- "The concept for these designs was 'toys'. We wanted cute designs geared towards little kids ... the kinds of characters that you'd see hanging off of keychains and such," and "Not only that, I made sure to tell the designers not to skimp on any of the original Mega Man details. We wanted their proportions and movements to be accurately reflected in these designs as well."
- Paraphrased the first one and removed the second. GamerPro64 01:46, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- I am not sure why we need that much information on the game's pre-release reception.
- Trimmed down the section. GamerPro64 01:46, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- though it sold better in the US. - Do we have any sales information for Europe?
- I can't see to find anything about sales in Europe. More than likely sales were bad there as well. GamerPro64 22:56, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
- noted that those who don't like the art style would be able to get over it after playing - Did he mention why? Also, use "do not" per WP:CONTRACTION
- No he didn't mention why. And also changed "don't" to "do not". GamerPro64 01:46, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Detroit Free Press called it "a must-buy for fans of the long-running series, despite its super cute-ified new look." - Detroit Free Press should be in italic
- placed "Powered Up" as the seventh best handheld game of 2006 - Should not use quotation marks. It should be in italic.
