Meituan-Dianping → Meituan – Meituan-Dianping has been renamed to Meituan. Ckh3111 (talk) 13:54, 1 November 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. (t · c) buidhe 22:11, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- Any source for this renaming? (please mention me on reply; thanks!) Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 17:26, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- The article should only be moved if the new official name is also the new WP:COMMONNAME. Could you provide some recent sources to show that the commonly used name is changing? BegbertBiggs (talk) 00:41, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- Please see e.g. usage by Forbes, Bloomberg and Reuters: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brendanahern/2020/11/30/china-market-update-msci-index-rebalance-drives-volumes-meituan--autohome-deliver-strong-q3-results/, https://www.bloomberg.com/press-releases/2020-11-30/meituan-announces-financial-results-for-the-three-months-ended-september-30-2020 (+ other related news: https://www.bloomberg.com/profile/company/3690:HK), also Reuters started using this shorter name in late October (https://www.reuters.com/companies/3690.HK/key-developments, linked to company profile page https://www.reuters.com/companies/3690.HK/profile). This is a trivial case: Move. --Paju~enwiki (talk) 12:49, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NAMECHANGES and WP:COMMONNAME. Sources published after the name change generally use the short form "Meituan": Chinese delivery giant Meituan moves to expand live-streaming reach with new WeChat mini-program, China’s ‘Amazon of services’ says it welcomes Beijing’s stricter oversight; applying NAMECHANGES, this means we should use the new name. Plus, the short form "Meituan" is more commonly used anyway: for example, this Business Insider article published before the name change referred to the company as "Meituan" without one using "Dianping" in the article. feminist (talk) free Hong Kong 04:16, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
