Name
editIs "Wa" part of her surname or is it more like a middle name? I want to make sure she's sorted properly in categories. Asarelah (talk) 16:02, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
I guess is like a middle name, meaning "of" or "from". ZheCk (talk) 14:20, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Wa is like a middle name meaning of. Its now assimilated in Swahili to mean 'of'. psj 15:41, 25 May 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PHILEMON SUNDAY (talk • contribs)
Death
editHow could Mekatilili be released in 1914, fight 5 more years, and die in 1914???
I read somewhere else (source needed) that she died in 1919 instead, which makes sense.

Mekatilili as a Prophetess
editMekatilili wa Menza prophesied about the coming of the British colonisers, aeroplanes, guns and construction of the railway line. She was valued as a Prophetess by the Giriama people and she used her abilities to plan for attacks and escape prisons. psj 15:39, 25 May 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PHILEMON SUNDAY (talk • contribs)
Mekatilili, not Menza
editLots of times she is called, in the article, Menza. This is not her name. Her name is either Mekatilili or, if you want to tell her aside of other women called Mekatilili, Mekatilili wa Menza (translated as Mekatilili, daughter of Mensa). Mensa is not her name. Is the name of her father.
