editThis is a straight forward profile of Mekka Don who has recently been profiled in several reputable sites, magazines, and blogs including XXL magazines, Above the Law, ABA Journal, amongst other lesser known internet sites. His story is notable because of his controversial decision to leave a high profile NY Law firm to become a rapper. The profile is biographical and does not promote or advocate the artist.
- Unfortunately, most of the sources provided are not actually allowed as sources (myspace, youtube, official website, etc.) Moreso, there isn't enough to suggest that his rap career (the primary focus of the article) is at all notable, especially considering the fact that he only started rapping "seriously" in 2007. Unless he gains notability as a rapper, a lawyer changing careers isn't notable. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 00:19, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
He has reached up to #2 on the college hip-hop charts and has been featured in the #1 Hip-Hop magazine XXL. Added with the the collaboration with notables such as Mick Boogie, and his background story as featured in the law journals, he seems to have gained the requisite notoriety for a page. If Mekka Don is googled there will be numerous sites and stories without the a centralized, reliable source for bio info which is what Wiki is great for. Any suggestions on what types of changes need to be made? I think the threshold notoriety is there. Anointedliberal (talk) 00:34, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
to be honest he's not a really notable musician , take his last.fm profile , only has 363 plays , thats very few , thats less then plenty of musicians that aren't wikified , i know this isn't a reliable source , but its just to show that hes hadrly a notable rapper. His Hype is around his change in careers not his music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.184.25.214 (talk) 04:38, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
